My entry for the challenge ran by Clinton Jones (pwnisher) on YouTube. The challenge is called Infinite Journeys. Before starting this I went into reading "The King Must Die" by Mary Renault. Her colorful prose inspired me to try something Ancient Greek inspired. I wanted to add some sci-fi too and as such I went for this alternative history, as if the ancient Greek civilization expanded onto other planets.
The challenge rules were to capture motion, pan the background left and have a character. The character was an interesting challenge for me as I specialize in Environments. I grabbed a MetaHuman base mesh and rig and then made my own clothing and accessories in Blender.
Everything in the scene was made for the occasion with the exception of the apple, books and a cliff: those were from Megascans.
Animation was fun to do, as that is not something I usually do either, but the MetaHuman rig proved sophisticated but easy to use. Assembled in Unreal Engine 4, modelling in Blender. Textures in Substance. Land is made in Gaea.
Cheers,
Pete.
